Frequently Asked Questions:

What level of English do I need to join Walk & Talk?
You should know basic English grammar and be able to hold light conversation...
                        However,...
If you are a total beginner or very advanced or have special needs (eg. business english/working in the E.U, fluency and grammar, social english, preparation for the Matura, etc...) I can develop a special course for you or your group.

What do we talk about during the walks?
The first walk will be an introduction walk to get to know you better and to talk about your needs. On the following walks we will discuss the groups' interests, current events, culure, local or international news etc. If you have a group with special interests or you would like private coaching, we can plan specific vocabulary or lessons in your field of interest.

How will the teacher correct my mistakes?
I will give corrections as we walk and help each person in translating tricky words or phrases. For bigger mistakes, I will make a note of it and discuss it with the group near the end of the walk. I am always open for questions. The flow of conversation is an important aspect of Walk and Talk.

Where do we meet?
All of the walks are in the Salzburg region. For the first course I like to meet at the Hellbrun Allee (specifically, at the parking lot behind the Merkur market accross from the Polizei Direktion Alpenstrasse). It's an easy walk through the Allee into the beautiful Hellbrunn park and around the grounds. The walk takes a perfect 90 minutes at an easy pace so that no one runs out of breath!

However,
If you prefer a location near your home or would like to change locations every week, that's no problem. We can work out all the details so that everyone in the group is satisfied.
Other locations include:
Ischlertrasse
Glassenbachklamm
Rundwanderweg (Gaisberg)
Monchsberg
Aigner Park
Heuberg
Along the Salzach River in downtown Salzburg
Königsseeache
...and more!

Bad weather?
No problem. That's why we have rain jackets and boots, right? If the weather is very rainy or stormy we can meet in a cafe for a cosy chat over a steaming coffee. If absolutely necessary, we can postpone the course to a later date. In case of bad weather, I will contact you per SMS, email or telephone the night before.

But I'm a mountain person!
If you are a very sporty type and want a more physical challenge, we can hit the mountains together! Just be sure you can walk uphill at an easy pace and speak without losing your breath. This course is ideal for one or two participants. I especially like to walk to the Rauchenbichl hut on the Gaisberg for their delicious food and cosy atmosphere. Friday morning or in the afternoon after work is the ideal time to enjoy the hut without a crowd. See http://www.alpintouren.com/ for more tours in the Salzburg region. Cost depends on the length of the tour and the size of the group. Give me a call and we can customize the right mountain walk for you!

But I'm a city person!
If you enjoy a short walk in beautiful downtown Salzburg with a stop in one of the many comfortable cafes for a chat in English, call me and we can customize a course to suit your needs. Cost depends on the length of the walk and the size of the group.
